In Hinduism, Buddhism and Jainism, the word yoga largely refers to meditative practices. In Western culture, the word yoga is commonly used for Hatha Yoga, a system of poses used for exercise and for clearing the mind. All forms of yoga can be beneficial and are included here. Tai Chi, a Chinese martial art, is practiced as a moving meditation. It can provide many of the benefits of meditation, along with physical conditioning.
